It doesn’t really seem fair to lose out on a seat on a plane to a bird. After all, we built planes to get that one step closer to what birds are born with!

However, if you regularly fly around the middle-east, it might not be an unusual thing to see something like the above! This is a photo of 80 birds of prey being transported on an airliner to Jeddah for a hunting trip.

Apparently, falconry for hunting is very popular in middle-eastern countries and as such, transportation of falcons and other birds of prey is very common on planes!

It is so common in fact, that some airlines have explicit rules and regulations for transporting falcons! First class and business passengers are allowed 2 falcons per seat whereas lowly economy passengers are only allowed one!
